Welcome to Worthing Musical Theatre Company! The company (under its original name
'Worthing Light Opera Company'
) was founded by its Chairman David Turner in 1972.

Our first musical Ivor Novello's 'Glamorous Night' was performed at the Pavilion Theatre on Worthing Pier
in June 1973. Since that time the amateur dramatics company has flourished, undertaking new and challenging shows
such as Bad Girls, Honk!, Acorn Antiques and Sweeney Todd, mixing these with more well-known and much-loved musicals such as South Pacific, Fiddler on the Roof, My Fair Lady, Carousel, Oklahoma, Gilbert & Sullivan
, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Summer Holiday and most recently The Full Monty!

During its 40th Anniversary year in 2012, the company decided to look at a rebrand and a new image to move with
the times and to take it forward into the next 40 years. Worthing Musical Theatre Company was therefore
created to better reflect the wide and diverse range of shows it was now performing. Everything but the
name remains the same however, in particular the quality of shows we produce on a regular basis.

Worthing Musical Theatre Company is now a Registered Charity, Number 116 054

Nine To Five

Worthing Musical Theatre Company proudly presents Nine To Five. This musical is based on the 1980 movie of the same name, with music & lyrics by Dolly Parton.

Set in the late 1970s, this hilarious story of friendship and revenge is outrageous, thought provoking and a little romantic. Pushed to boiling point, three female co-workers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call boss.

In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy - giving their boss, Hart, the boot. While he remains 'otherwise engaged' the women take control of the company. Follow Violet, Judy, Doralee and the rest of the cast through a fun filled story that will keep you laughing from 9 to 5!
